Lalakhal

Lalakhal is a crystal-clear river region located in Jaintapur Upazila of Sylhet district, which is famous for its tea gardens, hills, and bluish-green water.
It is situated beside Sarighat and is a branch of the Surma River that flows down from Cherrapunji, India.

Best time to visit:

November–February: Best time! The water remains green-blue and clear
June–September: In the rainy season, the water level is high but muddy
March–May: Hot, but less crowd and a calm environment

Dhaka → Sylhet
• By Bus: Gabtoli/Sayedabad → Sylhet (৳500–৳1500)
• By Train: Upaban / Parabat / Kalni Express
• By Flight: Dhaka Shahjalal → Sylhet Osmani Airport

Sylhet City → Lalakhal
• By CNG/car reserved to Sarighat (about 1.5 hours)
Fare: ৳1000–৳1500 (round trip)
• From Sarighat to Lalakhal by boat (30–45 minutes by river)

🛶 How to explore Lalakhal:

• You can ride a boat/trawler and roam through the river
• There are nearby tea gardens, hilly villages, and riverbanks for photography
• Boat rent (2–6 persons): ৳800–৳2000 (depending on time)

• Water color: light blue, green, sometimes like clear glass
• Hilly forests and tea gardens all around
• Rocky fields by the riverbank
• View of clouds and sunset from mid-river
• Peaceful environment

There aren’t good staying facilities in Lalakhal, so a day trip is better
